I've been watching the news and listening to the talk radio shows and I agree with every word Farkel says.

Sept. KM: WT Sanctifies Fiscal Irresponsibility
by Room 215 in``because the world scene is always changing, a family head may be inclined to spend an excessive amount of time on the job, with a view to building up his financial reserves for unforeseen crises.''.
do they seriously endorse living from paycheck to paycheck as spiritually meritorious, a responsible mode of living for heads of families with mortgage/rent payments, child support, health insurance, car payments, utility bills, a food budget, etc.
all this after they ``stack the deck'' against self-sufficiency and independence for the average jw famnily head by discouraging university education or other forms of specialized education so vital in today's complex economy.. that's why so many, even while professing loyalty and submission to the fds quietly come to terms on their own.

Strange as it might seems, these PARASITES need to keep their thrall in a weakened state - not quite dead, but nowhere near good health, zombified by the assurance that their deliverance is near.
Of course the idiots making up this bilge and urging everyone who follows them to behave this way are themselves taken care of in every need. They have no compunction against encouraging their elderly followers who are now living from month to month on social security payments that their willingness to give money to the WTB&TS is a measure of thier "zeal".
They should be ashamed of themselves, but they have no moral compass.

But seriously, folks...
How about The American Museum of Natural History and the Planetarium?Be sure to bring your "Creation" book so you can refute the false testimony of mute rock. :)
Another spot that I used to enjoy was The Coisters at the northern tip of Manhattan...

Memorial Experiences from Hell
by Black Man inmemorial.....the time of year where we meditate on the supposed significance of jesus' death and watch all types of crazy mufuckas come out of the woodwork.
anyway, we had a new sister move into our territory and lo and behold claims she's of the anointed.
she was all of 40 years old, 350 pounds, friendly, feels that the friends should treat her with special reverence "since she's one of christ's brothers" (wouldn't that be sisters?).

What a great story!
"I'm of the annointed, and I have a special relationship with Jeezus, and I'm going to rule at His side, but I don't wanna catch something from that nasty cup and DIE!"

What Is Wrong With This Picture ?

Tallyman,
I'm an atheist. We atheist aren't burdened by any self-annointed "governing body," and so *I* speak for *myself* only. It would please me to have other atheists agree with what I'm about to say, but I do not require their agreement nor do I need their agreement.
What is your motive in posting these images with the statement that accompanies them?
Do you desire to create an impression in the "public mind" that Jdubs are a threat to public safety and thus precipitate persecution of the Witnesses?
That would be a terrible thing to do, and it won't work.
Do you really think that your rhetoric can frighten me or my godless brothers and sisters the world over?
It won't.
I'm eager to greet with open arms the great crowd of new atheists who will soon be casting the theocratic monkey on their back aside as they realize the fabrications and manipulations they've been subjected to by a small group of angry and hateful men.
I'm an optimist, but I'm not naive.
If you really have received threats, then you should go to the police and report the crime, then you should decide what your personal philosophy is in regard to self defense and then if necessary get thyself to thy nearest gun shop, purchase a handgun and proceed to learn how to use it properly.

Peace Security & Touching Jehovah's Eyeball
by Undine insalutations,.
i have been an inactive person for five years.
i am revolted by "the good old boy's club, counting time, endless meeting attendance and being introduced as "one of our fine elder's wives" etcetera...i've read and been liberated by the crisis of conscience book and realize the smarminess that is characteristic of the "organization.

Hi Undine,
Farkel has already said much of what I wanted to say, but I'll add that you've had this Watchtower melodrama played in your imagination so many times it would be remarkable if it did NOT surface in response to stressful events.
Keep breathing, and repeat, "It was only a bad dream, it was only a bad dream." You can de-program yourself. It will take time, and the effort to consciously remind yourself each time a Watchtower prophecy falls on its face. There will be bad events in the future, and there will be good events in the future, and the Watchtower will correctly predict NONE of them.

Should we believe in the theory of the evolution or should we believe in the bible.
There's nothing wrong with saying, "I don't know."
Give yourself a break. You seem like a pretty nice guy who has been taught to be very hard on himself.
One way to overcome your shyness could be by posting replies to messages you read here. We have no idea who you are, and we're not going to come and get you. Maybe your worried that someone won't like something you say and will say something mean. Take my word for it, it may hurt a little (just a little), but it won't kill you.
There might be somebody out here right now who would agree with you.
How will you ever know if you don't take a chance?

Take sides now
by chappy ini spent a couple of hours today with jw relatives and of coarse the usual subjects came up.
based on our conversation and after leaving, a couple of the old questions came to mind.
i'm curious about the rest of the boards thoughts.. now this may be conjecture but what if: god made it known,in no uncertain terms, that h/she exists and is finally going to put an end to all the evil in the world.

I wonder if the hidden assumption in your hypothetical situation is that god just happens to match your definition.
Let's make it more interesting - what if you discover that god is really Thor?
What then, hu-man?
When I was a pioneer back in the late 60's/early 70's I asked my pioneer partners what they would do if they encountered proof that what they believed was untrue. Some of them simply could not get their minds around such a concept.
